BODY MOVEMENT

Before industrialization, daily life in America demanded constant physical effort—people worked the land, built with their hands, walked long distances, and relied on their bodies to meet basic needs. Movement wasn’t something scheduled; it was woven into survival. Today, our routines have shifted dramatically. Many of us spend hours sitting at desks, in cars, or on couches, and while we may carve out an hour to “work out,” it often doesn’t replace the steady, varied movement our bodies were designed for. Modern convenience and technology have made life easier, but also more sedentary—meals are delivered, tasks are automated, and physical effort is optional. To restore balance, we need to reintroduce natural movement into our everyday lives: cooking instead of ordering out, growing or sourcing our own food when possible, walking more, carrying groceries, stretching, and taking on tasks that require real effort. Strength and health aren’t just built in the gym—they come from living in a way that regularly engages the body.
